ABOUT US
The Greek Letter Council was founded on March 18th, 1964 at Concordia University. It is a student group comprised of 2 fraternities and 6 sororities.
These organizations are groups of students that are centered around the values of philanthropy, sisterhood, and brotherhood.
We value diversity, integrity, honesty, and promote high academic standards within the Greek community at Concordia University and Université de Montreal.
More about us
Currently, we support the Big Brother and Big Sister of Montreal as our philanthropic organization, helping to promote our local community. We provide opportunities for leadership experiences through executive positions within the GLC and each organization. We also provide community service opportunities through philanthropy events that each organization and the GLC hosts.
Many members of the Greek organizations at Concordia have developed lifelong friendships and professional connections. Most importantly, Greek Life helps support self-development as men and women for each member. You can expect support, encouragement, and endless memories as a member of a Greek organization at Concordia University and Université de Montreal.
OUR EVENTS
Our organizations make events all the time!
Ranging from charity events to parties and even more original events, our sororities and fraternities can keep you busy during the semester.
RUSH
At the beginning of each semester, each organization begins a period of recruitment called "rush", where they hold events for interested undergraduate students to discover what each organization is about. To find out more about when these recruitment events take place and where, you can look at the organizations' websites or visit them at the Clubs Fair in September or Universal Rush in January. Below are some of the dates of recruitment events of each organization, as well as those of the GLC.
Greek Weekend
Greek Weekend is a competition that takes place in the fall semester with the different organizations of GLC. It consists of a talent night, philanthropy night and other events.
Winter Carnival
Winter Carnival is a competition that takes place in the winter semester with the different organizations of GLC. It consists of a talent night, philanthropy night and other events.
The Greek Letter Council acknowledges that Concordia University is located on unceded Indigenous lands. The Kanien’kehá:ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters on which we gather today.
